High density and crowding will negatively affect the nature and beauty of Marin County, and will decimate our limited water supply. We seek to preserve single family zoning and to resist unreasonable development
We stand for the proposition that Marinites should reject taxes, fees, proposals and propositions that require us to pay for our own environmental demise.
____________
The Board of Supervisors just voted to put a 43 unit homeless shelter in a small Greenbrae neighborhood, on Safe Routes to School, for 43 chronically homeless who are mentally ill, sex offenders, and drug addicts - - with no requirement to take treatment. The community and Local Schools were against it. Each small unit will cost $500,000 each, while in Sonoma they paid $38,000 per unit for a tiny house. Must taxpayers who spend most of their savings to get to a safe place to live now be required to live with people who are unsafe and need treatment, and won't agree to it? Find a place for the homeless, but separate out potentially dangerous and ill persons if you are going to place them in small neighborhoods. And, taxpayers should not be asked to pay exorbitant sums for small rooms for homeless when most rents/mortgages are hard to pay for many of our Marin neighbors.
